OTOPLASTY SURGERY (EAR SETBACK)

For patients with prominent ears, this operation can set the ears back and make them less protruding. Prominent ears are often a hereditary condition and other family members often have the same condition.

The surgery leaves the ears looking entirely natural. The ears will be closer to the side of the head and less prominent.

In adults the procedure can be performed under local anesthesia in the office. In children, the procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia.

Recovery time is quite short. Most patients can resume regular daily activities within one week; sports and exercise take a bit longer. Pain is minimal and swelling is mild.

The operation is well tolerated with a high degree of patient satisfaction.

The procedure is covered by MSP for patients under the age of 17.

If you have protruding ears and have always wanted them to be less prominent, you are likely to be pleased with the results of this surgery
